Filling on Front Tooth

We carefully and gently restore front teeth so that no one will notice

Artistic restoration not only eliminates visual imperfections but also restores the anatomical and physiological properties of the front teeth.

At the "Kiadent" dental clinic, known for its unique prosthetic solutions, modern and high-quality materials are used for the aesthetic treatment of front teeth, and the doctors possess a high level of theoretical and practical skills. The clinic offers services for both direct and indirect tooth restorations in the smile zone.

Indications for Placing a Filling on a Front Tooth

Restoration of a front tooth is a popular procedure in dental clinics as it allows patients to regain a beautiful smile in a short time.

Restoration is performed under the following indications:

  • Diastema (gap between teeth).
  • Misaligned tooth row.
  • Cracks or chips.
  • Wear or partial damage.
  • Altered natural enamel color.

Main Goal – A Beautiful Smile

Front teeth do not participate in the chewing process, so the primary goal of artistic restoration is to create a beautiful smile by restoring the anatomical and optical qualities of the dental row elements. Therefore, the dentist individually selects the composite material and restoration method.

In cases of caries on the back side, it is more reasonable to place a photopolymer filling. However, minor defects on the visible side can be corrected with ceramic veneers. Although more expensive than composite, veneers fully justify their cost, as they guarantee a Hollywood smile with long-lasting results.

Photopolymer restoration can last between 3 and 9 years. The duration depends on the quality of the materials used and the adherence of the dentist to proper technique.

Cost of a Front Tooth Filling

The final cost of the filling depends on several factors. The all-inclusive price is determined after an X-ray and consultation with a dentist.

Full list of front tooth filling services:

  • Placement of a temporary light-cured filling.
  • Restoration with a photopolymer filling.
  • Photopolymer filling, I, V, VI class according to Black.
  • Filling + fiberglass post.
  • Photopolymer filling, IV class according to Black.
  • Direct restoration of central teeth using light-cured materials.

Which Are Better?

Light-cured fillings are durable, offer a wide variety of shades, and have natural transparency.

At the "Kiadent" dental clinic, about 95% of restorations are carried out using light-cured filling material. Photopolymer is also used for inlays, repairing chips on ceramic crowns, and creating veneers.

Avoid Chemical Fillings

Chemical fillings are rarely used in dental practice. Light-cured fillings, on the other hand, are superior in various aspects. They are more durable, highly aesthetic, have strong adhesion to tooth tissues, and offer a wide range of shades. They are recommended by leading dental specialists.

Installation Steps

  • 1. Step. Examination, consultation, diagnosis

The dentist examines the damaged teeth and refers the patient for an X-ray. At Easy Dentistry, the initial consultation is FREE. Based on the X-ray results and visual inspection, the dentist agrees on the treatment plan with the patient (selecting material according to the fragment being restored).

  • 2. Step. Preparation

The surface of the teeth is preliminarily cleaned of plaque using polishing paste. The dentist then selects the appropriate shade and administers local anesthesia. To minimize discomfort from the injection, the gums are treated with an anesthetic solution.

  • 3. Step. Preparation of the tooth

The dentist isolates the gums using a tampon or rubber dam. The tooth is prepared with a spherical bur, removing necrotic dentin. The surface is degreased, and a bonding agent is applied for strong adhesion to the crown.

  • 4. Step. Filling placement

The photopolymer is applied layer by layer, with each layer cured using an ultraviolet lamp.

  • 5. Step. Polishing

The light-cured filling is polished and finished with a polishing paste to give it shine. At the end of the procedure, the dentist checks the occlusal contact and adjusts the restoration if necessary.

Do Not Neglect Professional Hygiene

After composite fillings, regular dental check-ups for oral hygiene are recommended. The dentist will remove plaque, tartar, and polish the filled area. If the composite is kept smooth, plaque will accumulate more slowly, and its color will be preserved for a long time.

Advantages and Disadvantages of the Method

Advantages

  • Strong adhesion to the tooth tissues, preventing bacterial penetration.
  • Precise restoration, allowing for artistic restorations of any complexity.
  • Versatile, pliable material suitable for any tooth.
  • Wide range of shades.
  • Transparency, blending with natural teeth.
  • Durability.
  • The composite can be restored or replaced.
  • Restorations are completed in a single procedure.
  • No contraindications for children.

Disadvantages

  • Without maintenance, the material's lifespan does not exceed 4 years.
  • The composite may change color due to external factors (foods with dyes, drinks).

Alternative Option – Veneers

At the "Kiadent" dental clinic, cosmetic defects of front teeth are corrected, restoring a beautiful smile with the help of veneers. These are micro-prosthetics installed on the front surface of the teeth. They are made of ceramics, zirconium dioxide, porcelain, or photopolymer.

The number of veneers to be installed is determined after consultation with the dentist. For some, 6 plates in the smile zone are enough, while others may need 10. It all depends on the clinical picture and the patient’s financial capabilities.

Installing veneers on molars is impractical, as even the strongest plates will wear down under daily chewing pressure.

How to Care for Teeth After Composite Restoration

To preserve the original appearance and integrity of filled teeth, the following rules should be followed:

  • Use a toothbrush with soft bristles.
  • Avoid abrasive toothpaste.
  • Brush teeth twice a day.
  • Rinse mouth after meals.
  • Avoid excessive consumption of staining products (coffee, black tea, natural juice, red wine, etc.).
  • Visit the dental office every six months, where the dentist will check the condition of the filling material and remove plaque.
